HOUSTON, June 5, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- It gives us immense pleasure to announce that Waukesha-Pearce Industries (WPI) has turned 95 today. WPI's president Louis Pearce III said, "As WPI moves a year closer to joining the ranks of the far and few century-old companies in America, we are proud, humbled and grateful. We are proud to remain standing tall in a very competitive environment. We are humbled by the continued support of our loyal customers. And, we are grateful to our employees that provide a rock-solid foundation necessary to stand the test of time."

WPI's success story began in 1924, when its visionary leader Louis Pearce Sr. saw an opportunity to make the most of Texas oil boom. In 1924, Pearce Sr. established the Portable Rig Company, known today as Waukesha-Pearce Industries, LLC. Guiding the company through tough economic times, including the Great Depression, Mr. Pearce successfully negotiated the Texas distributorship of Waukesha engines with the Waukesha Motor Company of Waukesha, Wisconsin, and opened the company's first branch operation in Greggton, Texas. The year was 1933 and WPI was just getting started. In 1934, Louis Pearce Jr., a World War II veteran joined his father, and the duo soon opened additional branches in Dallas, Wichita Falls, Corpus Christi and Odessa, Texas, and New Iberia and Shreveport, Louisiana. In 1944, the company ceased its drill rig manufacturing operations and incorporated itself as Waukesha Sales & Service, Inc. In the 50's while the energy sector was suffering the consequences of declining oil exploration, WPI diversified its portfolio under the leadership of Pearce Jr. and formed the Pearce Equipment Company to market and service construction machinery. Third generation of Pearce family, Louis M. Pearce III joined the family business in 1962 and in 1967 Waukesha-Pearce Industries, Inc. was formed as a merger between Waukesha Sales & Service and Pearce Equipment Company. Today, WPI has branches spanning the US and Canada, a committed workforce of 800 and rich family history spanning four generations.

Stressing the importance of innovation and bold predictions at WPI, OEM Business Development Manager, Louis Pearce IV said, "Time and again when others failed, we prospered. We attribute this to our continuing ability to innovate and boldly predict future market trends, strong work ethic and culture. Innovation helps a business keep up with constantly changing times, especially in this era of technology and research. And, WPI has never shied away from embracing change in form of new ideas and technologies."

So today, join us in celebrating the 95th anniversary of a company with strong family values, rich history and firm commitment to customers and employees.
