Jessica Simpson shared a photo she said was taken from her backyard shortly after Kobe Bryant's fatal helicopter crash on Sunday morning.
Simpson said she "felt the loss" of the event as emergency helicopters flew over her Calabasas, California, property just after the private-helicopter crash that killed Bryant, his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, and all seven others on board.
The tribute image she uploaded to Instagram on Monday shows clouds parting over the mountainous range of the Los Angeles hills.
"We could see the emergency helicopters flying over our house and I felt the loss," Simpson wrote. "I felt the power in the sky of the heavens parting to make room for the greatest of angels to rise."
The 39-year-old also honored the families affected by the catastrophic crash.
"My heart is completely broken for all the families and loved ones left behind trying to make sense of things in this tragic moment," Simpson said.
But the singer made particular mention of the former NBA star's wife, Vanessa Bryant, saying she "championed" him to greatness.
"Vanessa, you are the woman and wife that championed your husband to greatness," Simpson wrote. "My prayers are constant for everyone affected by this impactful loss."
While the cause of the crash is still under investigation, the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration said heavy fog conditions might have contributed.
The NTSB has also said the helicopter didn't have a black-box flight recorder on board and that the chances of survival would have been slim.
Scores of celebrities have shown solidarity with Bryant and the other eight victims. Nick Jonas, Lizzo, and Priyanka Chopra acknowledged the tragedy at the Grammy Awards on Sunday night.
Billy Ray Cyrus even dedicated two of his Grammy wins to Bryant and his daughter.
